How does the subscription box work?

When you sign up for an subscription, a box full of eco-awesome items is delivered every 3 months... March (Spring box), June (Summer box), September (Fall box) and December (Winter box). You'll get your first box right away, then you'll get billed and sent a box every season. If you purchased a box mid-season, your second box may come sooner then 3 months, but then you will be put on our regular cadence of a seasonal box every 3 months.

Once you sign up, you're on the list and a box for the next season is reserved for you. For seasonal subscribers, each box is billed, one at a time, at the first of each seasonal month (March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1). Every season we send you a reminder notice a few days prior to billing.

After billing, we start to ship boxes out right away and most arrive in 1-2 weeks.



How does billing for the subscription box work?

If you decide to purchase a one-time box, payment will be made immediately and that will be it! You will have no further financial commitments.

Annual subscribers pay once and will automatically receive 4 seasonal boxes. Please note this is non-refundable and you are committing to a full year of boxes.   

Seasonal subscribers are billed on the 1st of each of the following months: March, June, September and December. Boxes will be shipped shortly after to arrive mid-month.  If you subscribe mid-season, your next box will be billed on the 1st of the upcoming season, regardless of when you signed up.  You may get your second box sooner than every 3 months, but the rest of the boxes will be on a 3 month, seasonal schedule.  You will be able to cancel anytime after 2 boxes. Please note that boxes that have shipped are non-refundable.

We also here to support small indie businesses to help get their name out there. They need our support, especially the start ups that are up against the "big guys". What currency do you charge in?

Our prices are in CDN.

The exchange rate makes it look like we're expensive but we're not. We are almost the same price as other "big" boxes like FabFitFun and Alltrue BUT we're authentically earth friendly and support small businesses. We feature low waste, sustainably made, quality items from groundbreaking small businesses. We include minimal plastic, and ship plastic-free + carbon neutral.

Approximate Exchange Rate:

Annual: 4 boxes total $360 CDN = $260 USD (each box $90 CDN = $65 USD)

Seasonal: $100 CDN = $72 USD

Single boxes: $110 CDN = $80 USD

What is the cost of shipping and why don't you offer free shipping on all orders?

Let's Go Eco currently ships to Canada and the United States.

Within Canada

For most locations within Canada we offer free economy shipping with Federal Express on all purchases of $150 or more.  Purchases under $150 are a flat rate of $10. We are based in Toronto, Canada and regular shipping typically takes 1-2 weeks to arrive depending on your location and the season.  

Continental USA

Shipping to the USA is an additional fee and generally takes 1-2 weeks.  The cost to ship to USA is a flat rate of $15 CDN (approx. $11 USD).  Boxes may incur additional customs fees or duties and are not included. 

Why do we charge for shipping?

While we would like to offer free shipping, because we're low waste and often plastic free our subscription boxes and orders are heavier then most.  They are also hand packed with care and extra sustainably sourced packaging to ensure minimal breakage.  On average, our subscription boxes and orders cost $16-25 to ship and the $10 flat fee helps us continue to deliver a more sustainable experience and stay plastic-free.

Rural Surcharge

There are some rural locations where we will not be able to honour our shipping fees.  For this we apologize.  In these very few cases, we will reach out and offer a shipping surcharge or a full refund. If you live in the NWT, Nunavut, Vancouver Island, Yukon, Alaska, Hawaii you can expect us to contact you about a rural surcharge.

Is the subscription box plastic-free?

Making the boxes as plastic free as possible is a top priority.  We obsess about making our boxes are as sustainable as possible. 

We at times will include items made from recycled plastic but the item have to have other eco-benefits as well (e.g., B Corp, gives back). We also sometimes will include items that have plastic-caps or bags for freshness if it's a food item. Our goal is to make the box contain minimal to no new plastic.

We ship plastic-free. Our boxes are made from 100% post-consumer waste and are fully recyclable.   

We also work with our product partners to ensure that packaging during shipping is as eco-friendly as possible. We'll even go pick up items to avoid the excess packaging that may be required when they being shipped by mail.  We're happy to say that there's very little plastic in the entire process.

Can I buy the box as a gift?

Absolutely! A lot of people do. The box makes for a unique and really meaningful gift and we get several messages a season from people telling us how thrilled they are with their present.

Can you tell me what's inside this season's subscription box?

We don't automatically share the full contents because most of our subscribers have asked us to keep it a surprise. But we also believe that you shouldn't buy something you don't need or want.  So we have a compromise.

A week before billing, we send an email to everyone remind you about billing and shipping timelines. For those who really want to know, you can ask us to email you the full contents of what's in the upcoming box.  This gives you a chance to "skip" the box if you wish.  You'll have to let us know before the box is sent to your home (3-4 days after billing).

For those who love surprises, we'll be sharing 4-5 spoilers and then have a "full reveal" after most boxes have been delivered.

Can I get a refund or return the subscription box?

Unfortunately no, all purchases are non-refundable and any returns sent to us will not be eligible for a refund.  However, if you have a problem such as a damaged item in the box, please reach out to us and we will do our best to fix the problem.  

What if something arrives broken?

We carefully pack boxes by hand but because we don't use plastic breakage sometimes happens. It is our policy to replace or refund broken items. Email us a picture at hello@letsgoeco.com and we'll start the conversation.

Does Let's Go Eco ship internationally?

We ship to Canada and the US.

Shipping to Canada is free over $150 and a flat rate of $10 if under $150. If you are ordering from Canada, please be aware that all purchases will be subject to GST/HST tax and possibly other taxes depending on your province. 

The cost to ship to USA is a flat rate of $15 CDN (approx. $11 US). 

For those outside Canada, your country may add additional taxes or duties for imported goods. Let’s Go Eco is not responsible for paying any additional taxes, duties, and tariffs.

How long does it take for my order to arrive?

We're fast. For most orders we ship using FedEx Express and will arrive in a 3-5 days. For rural locations and PO boxes we have to ship using Canada Post and this will take 5 days to 1 week.

For those buying a subscription, after billing on the 1st of the seasonal month, boxes start shipping right away. If you purchase a box mid season, it will be shipped immediately. All boxes are shipped within 2-3 weeks of the billing date (not months like other subscription boxes).

We ship 5 days a week and do not ship on weekends or holidays. Orders placed on a Friday will ship out within 2 business days (either Monday or Tuesday of the following week).

How do I cancel or skip a box?

Please email us at  hello@letsgoeco.com and we can do that for you.  Please let us know before your box ships (we can't skip/cancel after a box ships). Note that for subscriptions we require a 2 box commitment before cancelling.

How do I update my account or billing information?
